Swiped

Spontaneous stop for a quick dip during my last motorcycle trip in#Vietnam
#motorcyclediaries#southeastasiatravel#northernvietnam#throwback
Let's just start with some photo's probably recent but not always necesarily. In northern Vietnam (above, following and thereafter).

I also delved up some snippets.

VNexpress (Mar. 15) looks at the 35m high Trang Ta Puong Waterfall in Quang Tri Province.
'Located in Thuong Lam commune, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province, Khuoi Nhi waterfall is an ideal place for visitors to swim and enjoy natural ‘fish massage' therapy'.
Pickyourtrail (May 28) lists 7 of the most "beautiful" waterfalls in Vietnam. Resort-in-asia (Jul. 4) lists the most "breathtaking "waterfalls in Vietnam.

Over to Laos.
The Vientiane Times (Jul. 13) notes:
'Borikhamxay province will develop Tad Tontaen waterfall as a natural tourism site to attract more visitors after the Covid-19 pandemic and to upgrade facilities at the site.
The project is also aimed at increasing the income of the local people so that they can improve their lives.
A feasibility study for the project began recently, after an agreement was signed by officials of Borikhamxay province and the Somchanh Construction Company Limited last week.'
Below a picture only referred to as Laos:

I don’t think I’ve shared a picture of my butt yet this year and February is almost over!!! India maybe isn’t the best place for butt pics especially in all of these beautiful resorts we’ve been staying in recently but here is a little throwback to one of our favourite spots in Laos!-----📸 - @silcolibri -----#nakedinnature #butt #nakedadventure #adventurethatislife #exploreeverything #exploreeverywhere #freedomthinkers #keepitwild #liveauthentic #lifeofadventure #neverstopexploring #welivetoexplore #adventurespirit #stayandwander #travelshots #exploremore #exploringtheglobe #planetdiscovery #travel #thewanderingtourist #traveladdicts #seetheworld #roamtheplanet
Continuing our westward journey, we're in Thailand. Not exactly referred to, presumably mainland Thailand (?).

I'm not sure what it is about getting naked at waterfalls but I seem to do it every time I go to one now! Especially if I am with @lilythenomad !..There is just something so freeing and primal about stripping down and getting into the icy waters surrounded by nature. Really, just being naked in nature anywhere is something everyone should experience at some point in there life!..I have decided to make it a goal of my life to spend at least one birthday entirely in my birthday suit! Since my birthday is the 28th of this month maybe I will just have to make it happen, give me a double tap if you think I should! ..#birthdaysuit #nakeninnature #naked #waterfalls #waterfall #waterfalllove #nakedchallenge #thailandwaterfalls #travelthailand #explorethailand #norhternthailand #pai #paithailand #painature #thailandnature #damestravel #sofetravel #solofemaletravel #solofemaletraveler #bucketlist #bucketlistgoals #femmatravel #globelletavels #ladiesgoneglobal #wearetravelgirls #shewhowanders #travelstroke #postcardplaces #welivetotravel

Lifeofdoing has an updated (Aug. 6) 13 best Balinese waterfalls.
Escapeartists (Mar. 8) has a most photogenic waterfall overview of the island.
Tripcanvas (Apr. 14) has 24 hidden waterfalls on the island; a really good primer on waterfall hunting on the island.

Starting in the Philippines, heading anti-clockwise, a quick brief on what's marginally topical concerning waterfalls in the area and spicing everything up with some of the better finds from internet.

Hetisdemerckx (Mar. 29) looks at waterfalls on the island of Cebu:
'The province of Cebu has many qualities. In our opinion the highlights are in the south where you will find waterfall after waterfall. Unfortunately our holidays are not infinite and we have to make tactical choices which we are going to visit. Below you will find our favourite waterfalls in Cebu'.
Earthvagabonds (Jan. 29) looks at adventurous waterfall jumps from his/her experience on the Philippines:
'Leaping from cliffs, waterfalls, bridges, trees, etc., is quickly becoming one of my favorite hobbies as we wander around the world in early retirement.
Truthfully, I’ve always enjoyed plunging into natural swimming holes and pools with high diving boards. But since coming to Southeast Asia – where steep terrain, hot temperatures, and abundant rainfall are common – there are evermore opportunities for new amazing jumps to be made.
In the last few weeks here in the Philippines, where we are currently staying, I’ve made jumps at more than seven different places. Below is a quick review of each with pics and video from Bohol and Cebu islands'.

Travelpassionate (Mar. 17) has a look at yet again a list of the Philippines best waterfalls, just 10 though.
Twomonkeys (Jan. 13):
'In this article, we listed the best waterfalls in the Philippines'.
Twenty in all.

Johnnymelon (Mar. 23):
'Waterfalls in the Philippines are some of the best waterfalls I have ever been to and I am sure many other tourists before me would agree! Philippines Waterfalls are most famous for their Gatorade blue color and the common jungle hike to get to them!
I spent 3 months island hopping in the Philippines and have put together this complete list of 20 Awesome Waterfalls In The Philippines!
Taralets (Feb. 28):
'The Philippines may be known for its beaches, but it also has other natural resources to be proud of! The country boasts of numerous waterfalls, although a number of them are not yet popular or commercialized to the public'.
Thirty-five apparently, but maybe just a re-hash of an older entry?

Journeyera (Jan. 30) shares an experience:
'Cebu is known as being waterfall-lovers heaven with more than 100 falls spread across the island, but have you ever hear of Lusno Falls? This waterfall is a bit of a hidden gem on Cebu as it isn’t located next to the main road and is a little bit more low key than some of the other waterfall hotspots on the island. Because of this, it has local charm and a relaxed atmosphere. There is no entrance fee, no cottages, no cement path. It’s just a tranquil waterfall amidst the palms halfway between Argao and Ronda in the middle of Cebu'.
Lessons
That one time I went on a motorcycle adventure in northern Vietnam and competed with 60 people throughout 3 days. One of the challenges was to skinny dip near a waterfall. Getting naked wasn’t so hard, it was finding this dang waterfall. Such lovely memories. One day I’ll return.🇻🇳
Not much mentions from Vietnam, just pictures, even with little geo reference (above), though following sets the scenery near Ta Van, Sapa (northern Vietnam).

The mind is like a river. We are told to beware of the water that appears still or trapped, it is not safe and can be toxic. Emotions and thoughts are meant to be felt and reflected upon in order to move forward. Right, heading westwards we're in Laos.
Backpackerswanderlust (Jan. 8) has a list of the best waterfalls of the people's democratic republic.

RFA (Jan. 13) enlightens us with news on Southeast Asia's largest falls, on the border with southern Cambodia. Apparently there's a changing of the guard; or better said capitalism seems to be working:
'Authorities in Laos’ Champassak province have revoked the licenses of a Lao development firm for tourism projects around two waterfalls in the province so that a Hong Kong-based developer could take over.
In a Dec. 30 notice, Provincial Governor Bounthong Divixay approved the cancellation of licenses that were issued to a the Laos-based Yingsokxay Company in 2011 to build tourist facilities near the Khone Phapheng waterfall, the largest in Southeast Asia, and nearby Somphamith waterfall.
The decision also put an end to a 2012 agreement that allowed a business group to make tourism parks and collect admission fees for Khone Phapheng'.
State operated Vientiane Times (Jan. 28) though shortly later announced:
'Champassak cancels entry fees at two tourist sites.
Visitors to Khonphapheng waterfall and the nearby Somphamit Waterfall Park in Khong district, Champassak province, can now enter these areas free of charge.
The province’s administration office instructed the Ying Sokxay Company to end the sale of tickets to view the waterfall and enter Somphamit Waterfall Park beginning on January 23'.
Quite odd; the article continues:
'The reason for the suspension of entry fees was not made available.
Khonephapheng is one of Laos’ most popular tourist attractions and is a spectacular sight. It is the largest waterfall by water volume in South-east Asia. Due to its great power and steep descent, the waterfall renders this area of the Mekong unnavigable, before flowing peacefully south into Cambodia and Vietnam.
Champassak is well endowed with places of interest for the visitor, both nature-based and historical. No one should miss a visit to this scenic region during their stay in Laos.
...
Among the natural wonders are Khonphapheng, Tad Fan, Somphamit Waterfall Park and Tad Yeuang waterfalls, with activities ranging from adventure treks and ziplining to rest and recuperation in the lap of nature'.

Cambodia next, though words wise we seem to be skipping Thailand all together. Above an image from Phangan island, south of Thailand.

Phnom Penh Post (Dec. 11) has an entry on waterfalls in the country's northeast:

'The Oryas Waterfall of Ratanakkiri province is one of the few places in the Kingdom that has remained untouched and unexplored. Once tapped though, it has the potential of boosting the eco-tourism for two of Ratanakkiri’s ethnic minorities.Located in the Lam Av village of Koh Pang commune in Veun Sai district, the beautifully isolated falls cascade down 40m into the Sesan river'.
An extensive description of an experience in getting here complete with vdo.

Then a description from a more central location. Phnom Penh Post (Feb. 13):
'Located about 57km outside Kampong Chhnang town the Anlong Svay site, composed of nine different waterfalls, offers tourists plenty of recreational options.Heng, the chief of the community-based ecotourism site in Anlong Svay, is leading a team of villagers to install the pipes.B/br>“Here we have nine waterfalls and natural pools where people can enjoy a cold bath,” he says.“Each waterfall has its own charm. Some prefer to bathe in the third or the fourth waterfall while others like the sixth or the seventh. Each person has its favourite.”Heng says the third waterfall, named “Algid Cascade”, is 5m tall and looks like an eight-step ladder. It sits in the shade of a huge tree. The eighth waterfall is 10m tall and L-shaped, while the ninth one boasts a large pool, he says. The ecotourism site in Anlong Svay was founded in 2004 to protect 1,663ha and promote community-based tourism in the area'.
Malaysia then. New Strait Times (Jan. 24) has 5 waterfalls in Selangor on offer.
Timeout-Singapore (Feb. 19) tries to entice it's readers:
'Most of us hit the causeway to Malaysia for all the right reasons: sipping coffee at the best hipster cafes in Johor Bahru, going on a food trail around Malacca for the region's best Kristang cuisine, and challenging ourselves to an adventurous trek at one of Malaysia's best hiking trails. But did you know there are also stunning hidden waterfalls all across the country?

How many nice waterfalls on Bali?
Lifeofdoing (Feb. 24) has 13 Balinese falls:
'Let’s chasing waterfalls in Bali! It’s one of our favorite activities to do. There is something special with Bali’s waterfalls with the relaxing sounds of the rushing water coming down from a mountain and quietness in the area'.
fiona.yogablu at Bali eco stay:
Once upon a time under a magical waterfall.. I fell in love with life.

 Honeycombers (Mar.10) trumps the above:
'If walking through dense jungle, clambering over rocks and ducking under lush green canopies is your idea of fun, then hunting for Bali’s hidden waterfalls needs to be on your Bali bucket list. Luckily for us adventurous souls, Bali is home to more than 16 of these hidden treasures, many of which are off the beaten track and unbeknownst to the tourist crowds (picture-perfect Instagram feeds here we come!). So to help you on your next wet adventure, we’ve put together a list of the best waterfalls in Bali for you to discover. Go on, jump right in!
Lifebeforekids (Feb.) has as a last contribution a slighter original choice from Indonesia:
'If you were impressed with the waterfalls in Bali, we can promise that you that Indonesia’s waterfall game is only going to get better. Visiting the waterfalls in Lumajang was an incredibly memorable experience and has now ranked one of our top waterfall destinations in the whole world.
Each waterfall was unique in its own way and each different to the one before.
If you are planning on visiting East Java during your time in Indonesia, we highly recommend spending a few days in Lumajang and ticking off as many waterfalls as you can'.

rararaupe  at  Peng Empu waterfall, Cau Blayu (Bali):
Another waterfall encounter today. Was so lucky that no body was there, so we could do skinny dipping!!!! 😍😬☀️✌️🌅🏊‍♂️
